Samed Cliff Resort is apart from driving from Bangkok to Ban-Phe just about 2.5 hour, The Bus departs every hour from Bangkok start from 5.00 am until 8.30 pm and from Ban-Phe, The bus will also leave every hour from Bus Station Terminal 1. Then reaching to Samed Island is not that difficult by ferries there are many pier that will service you to the island.

Satisfied your own luxurious bungalows with mountain greenery, a clear blue sky, a refreshing cool sea breeze, sparking Turquoise Ocean and fine, white sandy beaches and blue of the sky from golden sunrise to red sunset feel your stress melt away. Resort mentioned that it is the place where one feels closest to Nature, away form the madding crowd, traffic and all human activities.

Having read the other reviews I can see that at least on one point something has approved - the breakfast now includes some fruit in addition to the Nescafe and toast. These bungalows are seriously overpriced. I would expect this standard for about a 1.200 baht per night for the deluxe superior beachview room. If you pay more then expect to be disappointed. Service was on the other hand very good the first days we stayed (when the managers where present). During that time the staff was very nice, presenting towels after bath, babysitting our youngest daughter etc without us having to ask them. To be honest this was the only thin that made us stay and not go home. After three days the friendly staff left. Now, the service was the worst I have ever seen, noone was doing anything. We left the hotel half a day after the friendly staff left. We were not the only family that left the hotel before booked dates I can say. If you are a young couple on a romantic trip and do not wish to be disturbed thismight be a good place as long as you don t pay overprice.

Urusel frukost, osympatisk personal, städning ok, stort hotellbygge alldeles vid poolen, inga duschar vid poolen, smutsig omgivning. 6 personer med samma uppfattning.

ingen anmärkning, fungerade bra. Vi bokade för 6 personer d v s 3 st. bungalows.

I should say that the hotel was the worst ever in my life. The staff is unfriendly and very slow. The breakfast like in the prison: very limited and every day the same garlic & rice soup, fried egg with small sausage. If you think that it is possible to eat every day I give up.

WRONG PLACE TO STAY: You can find a better room with DVD player and coffee in room and the rest of what you d expect for a third of the price in any numbr of places locally - and not so far out of town. The pictures are misleading - while clean these rooms offer nothing except a fridge. The staff are slovely and unwilling to help you. They will NEVER smile. They grudgingly listen to requests and then do not fulfill them. The food is diabolically bad. The free breakfast is a joke and stunningly ends at 930am. Idiotic to say the least. Checking in provides you two pieces of information: one, keeeps your shoes indoors or someone will steal them, and cough up 1000bt deposit for a 20bt key - lose it and pay dearly. The towels are thin and inadequate. There is no wifi in the room at all. The TV offers four Thai channels and nothing in any other language. It is about ten years old, small, and running on antennae - no cable here! We feel ripped off. The cancellation policy means we are stuck here: there s no chance of checking out early and getting our money back. Taxi to town (about 2.5km away) is 150bt. You ll need a bike or ATV rental to stay here or you ll be at the whim of the local truck taxis. Seeking information from the front desk (it closes at 8pm!) is like trying to extract gold from seawater - impossible. They simply do not care about your happiness. This isn t a hotel, it s a hustle. Our poorest travel booking in ages. Stay away all.

Good location and accommodation for a nice relaxing holiday. The food is Ok but nothing fancy, you d be better off going somewhere else for a nice meal. The staff are a little slow and not very proactive. If someone could educate the staff in the art of customer service this would be a much better place to stay.

Rummen/bungalowerna är mycket fräscha och fina. Vi hade utsikt över vattnet. Frukosten är inte så rolig. Vi åt vid 9-tiden och då var allt kallt. Stranden är inte så fin här utan om du bor här så hyr moppe och åk till någon av de andra stränderna.

If you expect wifi in your room and cable tv this is not the resort for you. You can rent a motorbike and travel the island from here but you should be somewhat of an experienced biker. I was expecting a great wifi connection but could get very little in the room or on the deck. Check out was a bit early..11:30..and they were right there to move you out. One more hour and charge for a full day. Breakfast was not a buffet but American or Thai soup. Staff spoke little English except for the delightful manager. But staff was great other than the English.

En helt OK resort. Rena, fina rum och trevlig, hjälpsam personal. Under lågsäsong dock folktomt och på grund av detta stänger resorten redan vid 19.30-20. Stranden till resorten är ingen badstrand men det finns många andra fina stränder på den lilla ön. Vill man ha MYCKET lugn och ro är detta den rätta ön.

A private bungalow for 2 persons with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. The rooms are situated at the front facing the beach. Guests can enjoy both garden view and sea view from the terrace.

Mini Suite 2 Bedroom

A private bungalow for 4 persons with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and 1 living room. Most of Mini Suites are located on level 4 with perfect panoramic sea view. They are suitable for family with children or a group of friends.

Bangkok - Ban Phe :
Apart from driving from Bangkok to Ban-Phe (please see the map), another easier way to get to Ban-Phe is to take a bus from Ekkamai station on Sukhumvit road. When you enter the station, the ticket counter is on your left hand side with the company (or Bus) called "Cherd Chai Tour". Your required destination is Bangkok - Ban-Phe (not Bangkok - Rayong). The Bus departs every hour from Bangkok start from 5.00 a.m. until 8.30 p.m. and from Ban-Phe, The bus will also leave every hour from Bus Station Terminal 1 (Ban-Phe Bus Station opposite Nuantip Market and Pier) from 4.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m.

Ferry to Samed Island :
Traveling to Samed Island is easy. There are many piers operating ferry lines from Ban-Phe mainland, such as Nuantip Pier and Phe Pier, to various beaches on Samed Island. The main pier on Samed Island is called "Na Dan Pier" which is the most popular pier because it is the closest point from Ban-Phe. The ferries to Na Dan Pier leave everyday from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. The journey usually take around 35 - 40 minutes depends on the weather. After you arrive at Na Dan Pier, you will have to take "Songtaew" (local open-aired taxi) to get to Samed Cliff Resort which will take about 10 minutes.

How to get around the island :
Generally walking and "Songtaew" (local open-aired taxi) are the main modes of transport. You can ask the reception at the resort to call Songtaew to come and pick you up at the resort. The cost varies depending upon the beaches that your would like to go since the distance counts as well as your negotiating skill. If you are more adventurous type, you can rent a motorcycle and ride around the island. Samed Island has only one road going from north to south with tracks running from it. Proper concrete road track runs only from Noi-Nha Beach to Saikaew Beach. The rest of the road track is unpaved and red dirt road, especially to the south of the island so travelers should have the strong motorcycle riding skill in order to ride to the south of the island.
